The following is a message from Department Adjutant Lisa McPhee:
Time is of the essence. Governor Healey has demanded the Massachusetts Senate pass the HERO Act by the end of this month. We all know the legislation is flawed in that the Veterans License Plate program will eliminate $1,000,000 a year from the two Veterans Homes in Chelsea and Holyoke. Attached is the letter for you to submit to your Massachusetts Legislature below is the link to find their contact information. I cannot stress how important that our voices are heard. We all know that the American Legion and especially the Department of Massachusetts has no problem standing alone when it comes to our veterans. LET US BE HEARD. You should change it sincerely and put your name. District Adjutants please submit a letter for your District and when you send it put the number of members in your District.
